BDO Methodology Consultation – Summary of responses
Following the announcement that ICIS would be launching a formal methodology consultation process, we have received one response to consultation GMC 04/18. The response is to be made public but anonymised, at the sender’s request.

There was one formal response to the Butanediol-Methodology-Consultation-2018.
ICIS Summary and Decision
In the sole response to the consultation, there were a number of questions, and two requests for changes to the current methodology.
The changes requested were:
1. Change the spec to 99.5% purity.
2. Change cargo size in Europe and China.
Following investigations by ICIS, the methodology has been amended to include:
1. 99.5% as the minimum purity for standard grade BDO.
2. Europe truck size as up to 28 tonnes.
ICIS continues to welcome any feedback on its BDO methodology outside of the formal consultation process.
