ICIS is implementing a process of rolling consultation on all of its pricing methodologies. This consultation paper is part of this formal process and covers all of the ICIS primary price points included in the methyl methacrylate weekly publications.
The consultation asks both general questions about the suitability of the ICIS pricing methodology and questions addressing specific methyl methacrylate market issues.

Responses
ICIS received one response and this summary takes into account the points made.
The monthly and quarterly contract price assessments should be based on transactions confirmed by only producers and consumers.
More clarity is needed on the volume involved in contract settlements, and the number of contributors to the assessment.
A weighted-average methodology for contract price assessments should be considered.
Decision
ICIS will survey market participants to see whether there is support for a weighted-average methodology, or a non-market adjustment.
The assessment of contract prices will give priority to confirmed contract information from producers and consumers.
ICIS will also aim to give more detail about the volumes concerned.
