LONDON (ICIS)–The UK’s chemicals logistics trade group the Chemical Business Association (CBA) said on Friday it was cancelling its annual Floggers lunch on the back of coronavirus restrictions.
Floggers is a key networking event for the European chemicals and petrochemicals distribution sectors.
It was due to be held in London on 29 April.
CBA said the delay in announcing the cancellation was due to contractual negotiations with the Grosvenor House hotel that have now been concluded satisfactorily.
The annual lunch is a gathering point for European distributors, their customers and suppliers.
In recent years, around 1,000 people from across Europe attended the event.
The CBA confirmed that the lunch would go ahead next year, on 28 April 2021.
The CBA event is the latest in a series of cancellations and postponements to international chemical events.
Some of those events cancelled or postponed include the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC), the International Petrochemical Conference (IPC) organised by the US trade group the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), or the European Petrochemical Luncheon (EPL).
