SINGAPORE (ICIS)–Ethylene prices in northeast Asia returned to January levels by mid-year, with the recovery driven by a resumption in downstream activity in the key China market and limited regional supply.
The supply crunch is likely to ease in August due to an influx of US cargoes and the completion of cracker turnarounds in Japan but a possible slowdown in US exports and upcoming cracker turnarounds outside Japan could still pose some constraints on supply for September.
In this episode of the ICIS Asia Podcast, Senior Editor Jasmine Khoo speaks with Yeow Pei Lin, the editor of ICIS Asia ethylene report, on the latest market trends and the near term outlook.
