KUALA LUMPUR (ICIS)–Taiwan is expected to host the 2019 Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC) next year, industry sources said on Tuesday.
An official announcement is expected later.
This years’ conference in the Malaysian capital had some 2,000 delegates and nearly four thousand particpants, Akbar MD Thayoob, President of Malaysian Petrochemicals Association (MPA) said in his opening remarks.
The APIC 2018 was originally planned in May this year but had to be called off because its dates clashed with the holding of the general elections in Malaysia.
Thayoob said holding it in August had turned out to be a better decision with such a large number of attendees.
Taiwan last hosted the annual conference in Taipei in May 2013.
